Stress is one thing everyone can relate with. Regardless of who you are, or what you do, there are times when you are stressed out either by work, family, relationships or any other lifestyle choices. Despite the difference in the level of stress people suffer, there’s a consensus that stress isn’t pleasant. If anyone could have their way, they would opt to live a completely stress-free life. The reality of this might seem far fetched, but it’s very possible. The big question is: are you willing to make the effort?
5 tips on living a life without stress
- Take things one step at a time
“One Step at a Time” is the title of a song recorded by American singer Jordin Sparks. Besides having a great rhythm, the song passes a very strong message about going through life without stress. You see, as humans, we want to have it all figured at once. There’s the desire to do it all right now. But life doesn’t work that way.

There’ll always be so much to be done. Worrying about all of them will most definitely stress you out. Focus on one thing at a time. Worrying about the 101 things you have to do won’t tick them off. Do that one thing you can do now, and get on to the next – only after you have completed it.
- Sit out some things
You have a clutter of work or commitments because you signed up for them. While there are certain things we don’t have the prerogative to turn down, there are those we can pass.
You probably think saying “no” will make the world come to an end. But guess what? It won’t. Even after you say a thousand “no” the world will still be in existence.
It’s okay to be nice to people, but that shouldn’t be at your detriment. If it looks like acquiescing to something will stress you out, politely turn it down. That way, you have one less thing to worry about.
- Sort out your finances
Money is a major trigger of stress. When there’s no money, there’s a tendency to get restless. With a long list of things to be done with money, and having no dime in sight, peace of mind becomes a luxury. Don’t allow things to get to that point.
Plan your finances. You know when money is most likely to come in. Manage whatever you have to last you to that point. Reduce the rate at which you spend money. Before spending, think of the implications it’ll have on your pocket. If you always have money at hand, financial stress will be eradicated.
- Start tasks early
There’s a high chance of experiencing stress when you are running behind schedule. The fear of not meeting a deadline or accomplishing something at the right time makes one to worry. You can save yourself the stress by simply starting things early.
Are you worried about bad breath? Here’s how to fix it!
What’s the worst that could happen if you start early? You’ll accomplish the task early, and have plenty of time left to yourself. You may choose to relax, or do something productive. It’s a win-win situation.
- Just relax
We live in a “mobile” society where everyone and everything are on the move. Not moving like everyone else could make one feel like a failure. That’s a flawed perception.
Taking a breather is highly recommended to calm your nerves. You aren’t a machine. If you overwork yourself, you’ll break down. What activities do you enjoy? Allow yourself the opportunity to do something fun. Do not stress your mind while at it. Enjoy the moment.
Not having total control of happenings in your life may trigger stress at some point. That’s normal. It becomes a cause of concern when stress is constant. Life is too short to live the most of it worried. Living a stress-free life is doable, if you plan ahead of time.
